Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintains, repairs and aligns Audio-Visual (AV) equipment at the Admin Unit, EDC, Learning Resource Centers (LRCs) and Schools in the Field.


2. Participates in the installation and operation of AV equipment used in the production of AV software materials.


3. Guides the staff in the setting up and operation of AV hardware and software materials used in classroom teaching and training.


4. Participates in the preparation of technical reports for the survey of unserviceable equipment.


5. Conducts regular visits to schools, training canters and LRCs for the maintenance, repair, and routine check-up of AV equipment.


6. Participates in the training of Education Specialists, School Principals, teachers, and instructors in operating and carrying out minor repairs of AV equipment.


7. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Successful completion of full secondary education.


2. A minimum of 2 years’ post-secondary training course in Radio/TV/Video mechanics from an institute recognized by UNRWA OR


3. Two years duration in Mechatronics, Maintenance mechanics from an institute recognized by UNRWA and/or One year Office Equipment & Computer Maintenance.

Experience:

• A minimum of five years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of office equipment or AV equipment or radio/video/TV equipment is required.

Languages

Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Special Notice

• The incumbent is required to travel within the designated area of operations in the performance of his duties. S/he must be willing to drive an Agency vehicle in the course of his travel.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Special training in Audio Visual technology.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

• Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.


• Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1050.20; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.


• Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week.


• Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency)
